![]() Several characters - including Makima - mentioned the name Gun Devil several times, but the Devil never made an appearance in the season. He fought several powerful Devils and got a hold of his powers, but the guy with "loose screws" has yet to fight the Gun Devil. Season 1 of Chainsaw Man mainly focused on Denji's growth within the Public Safety Division. Of course, the creators will share the progress on the second season (maybe accompanied by fancy teasers) throughout 2023, but the anime series won't be back on our screens before 2024. And with so many 2023 releases under its umbrella, it's highly unlikely that the studio will premiere Season 2 of Chainsaw Man in 2023. MAPPA is all set to release several projects next year, including Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3, and Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku. However, if the studio decides to complete Part 1 of Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga with Season 2, they'll have to go with a minimum of 18-20 episodes. So, the studio still has more than enough source material to work on the second season of Chainsaw Man. However, MAPPA instead decided to go with 12 episodes in the first season, ending its story on Chapter 38 of the manga. The leaks said that the season would adapt the complete story of the manga's Part 1, which has a total of 97 chapters. Initially, several rumors from reputed sources stated that Chainsaw Man Season 1 would feature 24 episodes (divided into two parts).
